Shanghai Crime

A friend of Mine Liquid impact had an event a week ago and after the event, they were taking down the displays and props.  The party was very good and the champagne was free flowing.

After the event, some foreigners decided it would be nice to have a take home prize and they walked away with a plasma T.V. that was on display and they had just removed from the wall.  You can find it in the groups of Facebook.com.  They have pictures of the guys that stole the plasma.

The poor Chinese kid that was in charge of the dismantle of the displays now has to loose 9 months salary because 2 foreigners decided the event and champagne was not good enough and had to steal a plasma T.V.

My friend Liquid Impact did not want to get anyone in trouble but felt bad for the Chinese kid that he is out that much money.  I wanted to offer a reward and have everyone to add to it to catch the guys that stole the T.V.  The good thing is that it is reported to the police and they have the serial number.  My friend wanted to stay low key!

Here is the link see if you know the guys?

So if the plasma is hunted down in someone’s apt they will be charged with theft.  Oh, by the way calling the consulate for help will not work.  They will tell you as I have tried and I know for fact, if you commit or are charged with a crime you can not leave the country.  Your passport is taken away till your court date.  That is if you have some one to bond you out or you will wait in jail for the crime.

If you’re proud of waiving your passport in China and saying I’m going to call the consulate general, you’re crazy.  Oh, yes, I see the president or guy that runs the country will call president Hu and tell them to let you go.  You’re dreaming!  I’ve seen it happen at the police station many many times.

So heads up for the guys that stole the plasma T.V…  If someone tells and they find it in your place or a friends, I’ll bet you end up in jail and not in your country.  You can call your consulate and ask them first.  Consulates are pretty use less; even if they go to court they dare not make a sound.  I had the U.S. consulate appear at my hearing and the guy was bored and did not make a sound.  He can only take notes.
