For a quick curry and nan, the Indian Kitchen is a good bet. The food is surprisingly authentic for a chain restaurant (there are nine other branches around Shanghai), prices are low and service is brisk. Butter Chicken Masala is a menu highlight. Solo diners will feel at ease here, and there is a good-value lunch deal for 30 yuan. Evenings tend to be popular with groups, so book ahead.
